As a company principal I’m devoted to helping my clients achieve their goals by creating the best possible experience for their audience. I focus on digital media product development and strategy, editorial content, website development and technology, and online user experience.
Connecting the viewer to the experience is the key to powerful communication, and in a visual environment, it’s the visual story that matters.
My attraction to visual storytelling began when I was a kid, hiking through the galleries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, visiting my favorite paintings. I learned a lot more when I began interviewing artists like Brice Marden and John Cage, as the editor of View, a magazine published by Crown Point Press in San Francisco.
In the mid-‘80s I studied TV and video art, curating museum exhibitions, packaging series for public TV, and learning how to tell persuasive stories. From there it was a short leap to becoming a producer myself. Museums were my first clients – a nice coincidence!
The Hall of BioDiversity at the American Museum of Natural History was our first web and interactive project. Now I’m fortunate to be working with many cultural institutions, government agencies, foundations and others. Every day I’m inspired by the opportunities they offer, and by the digital technologies I can use to help them establish a bond with their audience and get their message across.
