Yesterday, while running errands in the freezing cold I wondered whether I’d actually see one of these cabs. After all there are more than 10,000 yellow cabs roaming the streets. I whipped out my phone – just in case I’d get lucky – and suddenly one drove by:

It’s showing an Alex Katz portrait – calm, elegant, arresting. It’s so refreshing just to see something different – something that’s not advertising anything or asking you to consume.
